Monday night, the controversial and conservative radio host Alex Jones “exploded” in an interview with CNN host Piers Morgan that has now gone viral. Jones, the creator of a White House petition to deport Morgan for attacking Second Amendment rights, went on an apoplectic tirade over gun control legislation in the United States and government conspiracy theories.
Morgan could barely get a word in with Jones shouting questions at him on the effectiveness of gun control and insisting on a 1776-like uprising, if legislation limiting Second Amendment rights is enacted.
Following the two-part interview, Morgan expressed his appreciation for Jones coming onto his show saying, “He was the best advertisement for gun control you could wish for.”
As the so-called “fiscal cliff” and Congressional infighting have moved the media’s attention away from gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting, Morgan has vowed to continue to highlight the issue until the government takes action.
“After every shooting, America goes back to normal. The media come off the story, nothing gets done, the pressure on politicians dissipates,” he said. ”I think America is getting diluted to the horror of these things: it’s become too casual, too widespread, too indiscriminate, and incredibly dangerous,” he said. “Something has to be done.”
